The Woman at the Well

Genre: Drama - Religious Period

Logline: In a world where women are marginalized, a Samaritan woman goes through a string of husbands in an attempt to find wealth and power, creating havoc in both Samaria and Jerusalem. Having made a mess of her life, she finally comes to a place of brokenness, and is ready to encounter the Messiah at Jacob's well and find her true "Prince".

Synopsis: Set in Biblical Israel at the time of Jesus' ministry, this is
the fictionalized story of "The Woman at the Well" of John Chapter 4. The story follows Dinah's journey from one man to the next, all in her pursuit of a mystical prince she sees in recurring dreams, who she believes will give her the wealth and power which will lead to true happiness. The choices she makes create division between herself, her family and her village, and even echo as far as Jerusalem, when she runs off with the High Priest's son. Only when she comes to the place of brokenness and repentance is she ready to encounter her true "Prince", the Man who introduces himself to the town as the Messiah, and who sets both Dinah and the town free from the dark shadows within and without. Having partaken of Christ's "living water", at story's end, Dinah is ready to accept the town mute's undying devotion, now seeing him as who he truly is, the love of her life.
