Claire Hutchinson: Ambassador for Christ.

 

Owner of Ambassador Communications, I have had a love of writing since childhood. I have written poetry, short stories and plays, and had poetry published. My first amateur play, “The Universe Unlocking Machine”, a sci-fi spoof, was staged at Keycon, a science fiction convention.

 

I pursued my love of writing through the B.A. Honors Program in English (University of Winnipeg) and the Master’s Program in English (University of Manitoba). My Master’s thesis, “Conrad and the Idea of Progress” is an accepted critical work on the writings of Joseph Conrad, the late 19th-early 20th century novelist.

 

At 30, my life changed when I committed myself to writing inspiring, uplifting and morally redeeming works that bring my audience into a relationship with the Lord Jesus and proclaim Christian values, while at the same time entertaining my audience with high-calibre writing. My pursuit of excellence led me to complete the Certificate in Feature Film Writing (UCLA) and the Certificate in the Professional Program in Screenwriting (UCLA).

 

Currently, I am the writer of 10 scripts and three plays.

In 2006, my drama-comedy play, “Harry and Marge”, won third place in the Humana Festival of New American Plays for the Actors’ Theatre in Louisville, KY.  My short screenplays have consistently placed highly in the American Gem Short Screenplay Contests.

 

I founded Ambassador Communications in 1999.  Under this banner, I perform script consulting, screenwriting, and publish the Christian Screenwriters’ Newsletter, which has a subscriber base of over 500 screenwriters and producers. 

 

I am also the Founder of the Faith and Values Screenwriting Competition, a competition geared to finding the best faith-based and family oriented screenplays for production. 

 

At present, I am writing a devotional book for screenwriters, and a WWII documentary entitled “For the Love of Freedom” for Jeffrey Worthington, Producer/Director.

 

I am also an accomplished songwriter, with 40 songs in the works, and the co-author of the “Caleb the Colt” soundtrack and “The Star of Bethlehem” soundtrack.
